Wells Station

The station is located at 696 Sanford Road in Wells, Maine.

The Wells Transportation Center is open to passengers from 5:30am to 9:00pm 7 days a week with access to the Amtrak self-service ticketing kiosk, visitor information, restrooms and other services provided by the Town of Wells. A station host is available to provide assistance Monday through Friday from 5:30am to 1:00pm and Saturdays from 6:30am to 1:00pm. The train platform is located outside.

No. Construction at and around the Wells Train Station will continue through Fall 2026. This construction does not affect the Downeaster line, its schedule, or access into and out of the Wells station. During this time, there may be changes to parking, traffic patterns, entrances and exits, alternate platforms, and other detours near the Wells station.

There is plenty of free parking at the Wells Transportation Center.

Yes. The Eastern Trail is just under 2 miles from Wells station and is great for biking.

Yes. The Shoreline Explorer Orange Line - 5, operated by York County Community Action Corporation, provides year-round service between the Wells Transportation Center, Wells Beach, and Sanford.

Five northbound and five southbound Amtrak Downeaster trains stop in Wells every day. An alternate northbound “Event Nite” train runs from Boston to Wells on select evenings to help riders get home after big sports games and concerts. Weekend and holiday schedules may vary.
