Train Delay

Due to an earlier issue on the railroad, Train 681 is currently operating 1 hour and 45 minutes late. As a result, the following service modification will occur:

  • Train 681 will terminate in Portland, all passengers travelling to Freeport or Brunswick will board an Amtrak chartered bus for the remainder of their trip.
  • Train 686 will originate in Portland and is anticipated to depart on-time.  Passengers from Brunswick and Freeport will be transported by an Amtrak chartered bus to Portland and transfer to the Downeaster for continued train service to points south.

 

 Here is what you can do to stay informed:

  •  Self-modify your reservation via the Amtrak app or Amtrak.com (or call 800-USA-RAIL) if your trip has been impacted – any change and/or cancellation fees will be waived.
  •  Visit Amtrak.com or download the Amtrak app for the latest information on train status
  •  Subscribe to delay alerts for any train via email or text message at Amtrak.com/DelayAlerts
  •  Follow @AmtrakNECAlerts and @AmtrakAlerts on X for real-time service information on Amtrak trains in the NEC and across the country
