About the Amtrak Downeaster
The Amtrak Downeaster makes five round-trips daily between Brunswick, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts serving a total of 12 communities in 3 states along a 143-mile corridor.
Features and Amenities
Travel in Comfort
Enjoy comfortable reclining seats with lots of legroom, oversized windows for the best scenic views, bicycle and luggage racks, free Wi–Fi, and personal outlets at every seat. Passengers can upgrade to Business Class for additional perks.
The Downeaster Café
The Downeaster Café is located on every train and has snacks, light meals, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Cash and major credit cards are accepted.
Bring Your Pet
Small dogs and cats up to 20lbs are welcome on the Amtrak Downeaster in a pet carrier. Pet reservations are required and can be made online, at a staffed station or by calling 1-800-872-7245. The fare for pets is $29.00 one-way.
Event Nite Train
Connect to the games and concerts you’ve missed! The Amtrak Downeaster will depart Boston at 11:25pm on evenings of major concerts and sporting events.
